So, the other day, I tried to get some honest critiquing. And ended up with burn, burn, fap.

As part of my New Year's resolutions, I'm taking a picture of myself everyday. I'm hoping this will get me to take more pictures since by the tail end of '07 I was taking hardly any pictures at all. And I blame my scrapping slump on that.

Day One

I checked 4chan for the first time in two weeks and stumbled across an Anime South thread in /cgl/. Awesomely enough, people have posted pics of Artemis, Pyramid Head, and Four swords.

Last Saturday, I asked my mom if I could stay a day at the beach house the Momany/Sammons' were renting out for the week and --to my complete surprise-- she said yes. Funny though, she totally thought I was to stay for two weeks though I had only planned on staying Saturday night. Whatever. Besides the usual nine in the MS clan, Mike's Uncle Doug, Aunt Jessica, his grandparents, the Sammons grandparents, and Jamar were lodging at the house as well. (Jamar's parents are in Qatar selling weapons, wtf)

Highlights of the trip

• Mike, Andrew, and I saw a cosmic phenomenon  (a boob in the sky)
  
• that same night, we stole some bikes from a repair shop and explored The Village
  
• Mike tried to teach me to surf
• Kyle got Heroscape for Christmas
• the party ends up dropping $100+ on Heroscape related products
• Mike, Jamar, and I like Heroscape more than Kyle does
• I go to work at 5am D:<
• I learn more about Jamar than I ever wanted to know
• Andrew confesses he'd go gay for Starbucks
  

Christmas loot: 2 pairs of pants, super cute jacket, two shirts, bath set, Coach bag, the biggest comforter in the world from my mom, Teen Titans season 4 from Chris D, Mr. Bonjohead from Mike, Pikachu shirt from Mike's mom, a Disney snowglobe from Janae, Deathnote vol. one from Raymer, and perfume from the godparents

On a sidenote, let's see how crappy my old old old camera is.With 3.2 megapixels! Yeah!

For the longest time, I've been waiting the much-anticipated arrival of my Psylocke costume from limebarb.com. I had been planning on having it in by last Friday in hopes that I'd be able to hit up SuperCon in Ft. Lauderdale but was sadly disappointed when no costume showed up. Saturday rolls around and I start worrying that maybe some X-Men freak jacked my costume and I send out an email for Barb asking what was up (the tracking number she sent wasn't working though Barb said she had sent the costume that Monday prior). ANYWAY, just got word this morning that the delay was on account of family problems and some minor tinkering so the costume should be in soon. Also, I was being refunded $50. So I'm super stoked.

I'll be getting a discount on my next costume with limebarb since I'd be a returning costumer so I've been knocking some ideas around. Sadly enough, there aren't too many dark-skinned girls in the pop culture world (mostly the comic-verse) but whatever, I had compiled a list eons ago of people I could possibly cosplay as but, sure enough, it's been lost. I do remember a handful though. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post.

Alex -Totally Spies (as much as I hate this show, I have to admit, I'd love to be a super sexy spy)
Cassandra Cain - Batman (I'm working on this one myself but I'm sure Barb would have a better outfit for me)
Nico - Runaways (even though she's more of a porcelain Asian)
Jade - Jackie Chan Adventures (we have the same hair cut, same stature, and same annoying personality. God damn it)
Tarantula (Maria Vasquez) - Heroes for Hire (Mexican but whatever)
Ravager - Teen Titans (because I think Rose Wilson is badass and she's supposed to be Asian)
Det. Montoya - Batman (kinda butch though)
X-23 - X-Men (that would be awesome)
Sailor Saturn - Sailor Moon (because every girl wants to be a Sailor Scout)
Yoruichi - Bleach (never actually saw this anime but I hear good things)
Su Kaolla - Love Hina (because she's the darkest girl in entertainment, lol)
Jasmine - Aladdin (OH YEAH, I'D ROCK THAT)
Pocahantas - Pocahantas (meh, not my first pick)

In other news, I've just applied for TCC. I said I was a US citizen. We'll see how that fares, I guess.

As far as schooling goes, I pretty much aced my art final (100% on a fill in the blank, no word bank test). Prof. Valdez was pretty impressed with my work (also since I made a 100 on my mid-term). However, the day did not end so well. Chris, Mike, Jon, and I wound up on the roof of the art building and after some stealthy ninja dodging we were to jump off the edge. I'm still pretty bad at the whole falling off things bit -- and it didn't help that as I was dangling from the less-than-stable awning, Prof. Valdez was watching from under me threatening to call security. Whatever. I'm done with her class. I took the final. Made an f-ing 100A in art humanities. She told me to find better friends and to never do that again. After Chris told me to jump down and he would catch me, Prof. Valdez told me not to trust him and got one of the campus guys to grab a ladder for me. How embarrassing.

My English final was pretty straight-forward. I'm sure I passed and that's all that matters.

Bio was alright. I ended up not studying for it though I'm not too worried seeing as he's adding 16 points ON TOP OF MY FINAL AVERAGE. Yeah. Cool.

One last exam, college algebra. I'll probably spend the next hour plugging in my notes into my calculator.
